Mr. Krishna Prasad C, Membership Chair, CEO Clubs India - Hyderabad Chapter

Mr. C. Krishna Prasad is the Managing Director of Granules India. He is also the chief promoter of Granules India Ltd., and brings with him over two decades of rich experience of setting up and management of pharmaceutical manufacturing units.

Mr. Prasad began his entrepreneurial and business career in 1984-85 when he set up a small-scale unit for manufacturing of Acetaminophen / Paracetamol API, which is now one of the largest manufacturers in the world, with a global reach.

Mr. Prasad, with his innovative thinking has been the first to introduce a lot of new concepts to the pharmaceutical industry. Firstly, he realized the potential for selling a value added version of the bulk active drugs, known as Directly Compressible product. Later as the CEO and the Marketing chief at Granules, he pioneered and popularized the concept of Pharmaceutical Formulations Intermediates (PFIs) as a cost efficient and extremely convenient product for the global formulations manufacturers. These PFIs are pre-processed blends of single or multiple Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs) or multiple APIs, ready to be compressed into tablets or filled into capsules. In addition, Mr. Prasad has ingeniously integrated production processes to manufacture a broad assortment of products and set up the World's single largest multi-product granulation plant.

Mr. Prasad is a visionary and had anticipated, in late 80’s that major global pharmaceutical companies would outsource their manufacturing activities to countries like India. He visualized the inherent cost savings, the regulatory compliance skills and the trained manpower advantage of India. With this thought, Granules had chosen to become a preferred outsourcing partner for major pharmaceutical companies in the regulated market. His distinguished thinking skills were highlighted once again when he established a state of art tablet manufacturing facility enabling forward integration of Granules India and moving it up the pharmaceutical manufacturing value chain. Under Mr. Prasad’s leadership, Granules is today known for its high capacities, innovative processes and a diverse range of product in form of APIs, PFIs, granulations, and tablets/finished dosages.

Mr. Prasad is married to Mrs. C. Uma and the couple has one son and twin daughters. He enjoys all types of outdoor activities and like participating in Marathons all around the world along with Mrs. Prasad.
